Every path leaves a different story.
The Midnight Platform
A midnight train has lost its final minute. Follow a silver fox through impossible stations, and find your own way to morning.
Listen closely. Choose carefully. Carry the consequences.
The timetable lists After the summer, When work is quieter, and As soon as I know what to say. Beneath them, someone has added a warning. To find your way home, ask for tomorrow. Do not ask for yesterday. Staff must accept a spoken destination. Breakfast is included. You rub the glass. A moon-shaped button catches in the ivy below it, warm against your fingers despite the cold. Quill holds the carriage door. You ask who wrote the warning. Our engineer. She had some difficulty with the return journey. Now she checks the small print for everyone. The second hand reaches twelve and snaps back to eleven. Quill sees you notice. Yes. That's why we could use a passenger who hasn't learned to ignore it. You pocket the button and board before the clock can repeat itself.
